Building Performance Analysis

Overview

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Whole Life Carbon Assessor to join our team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in assessing and managing the carbon footprint of buildings throughout their lifecycle, from design and construction to operation and demolition. In this role there will be a strong focus on embodied carbon assessments, so familiarly with building construction materials and methods will be essential. Familiarity with OneClick LCA software will be a distinct advantage.

Ideally, candidates should be resident in Ireland, but we will consider remote candidates for this roles. Remote/hybrid working within Ireland will be accommodated.

Responsibilities include:
  • Conduct whole life carbon assessments for buildings, including embodied and operational carbon.
  • Contribute to sustainability certifications (BREEAM, LEED, WELL) through accurate carbon assessments.
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, and construction teams to integrate carbon reduction strategies into building designs.
  • Analyse and report on carbon emissions data, providing actionable insights for sustainability improvements.
  • Develop and implement carbon management plans and strategies.
  • Stay updated on industry standards, regulations, and best practices related to carbon assessment and sustainability.
  • Prepare detailed reports and presentations for clients and stakeholders.
  • Participate in sustainability certifications and accreditations processes.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in an engineering, architecture, environmental science, sustainability, or a related field.
  • Proven experience conducting whole life carbon assessments for buildings.
  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in carbon assessment tools and software such as OneClick LCA, eTool, or Tally.
  • Ability to understand and interpret design drawings and construction documents, including architectural specifications, drawings and bills of quantities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Knowledge of Irish building regulations and sustainability standards.
  • Commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
Desirable skills and experience:
  • Experience with OneClick LCA software.
  • Professional certification in whole life carbon assessments.
  • Energy Modelling Experience
  • Proficiency in DesignBuilder
  • Competence in data analysis and visualization tools like Microsoft Excel and Power BI.
  • Experience using AutoCAD and Revit.
  • Programming skills, e.g. Python
